If you have face book please click on the facebook logo above to share this post with your friends.

It appears that there is a Scam going on at the moment which may catch out people, all accross the UK and is in the 01555 telephone area at the moment.

This is not any thing new but I know of 2 people and myself who have been contacted by a company Calling themselves Windows Service Centre this week.

This company will talk you through some simple steps to shop you temp folders on your computer or windows system folders. They go on to explain that these are either slowing your machine down or that you they have found viruses on your machine.

In some cases they can talk you through initiating remote assistance, in other words they can take control of your machine as if they were sitting in front of it. Giving them full access to your files and folders.

If you are contacted by them don't be fooled. Either hang up or tell them you have your own IT support. Ask them for a number to call back on like I did. The number given was a dead line. Then I received a phone at 3.30 am (furious).

If you have a look online you'll find this has been going on for some time all over the UK. And some of the operators become threatening and abusive.

Eventually they will try and dupe you for a payment for support or in one of my friends cases try to sell you a new copy of windows.

I have read that they will sometimes change their company name, however I think you will know if you get a call. I can only assume they are auto dialing to area codes and appears they have hit 01555 now.

If you get a call from these scammers please, reply to this post. With any extra info you pick up.

I wish I had written more of the call down!
